What campus screens actually look for
Applications still hit ATS first: name, education, and skills must be extractable. See the ATS guide. Humans then look for major fit, a relevant project or internship, and skill words inside experience. Vague self-praise does not help.
A section order that works
A reliable order: contact → education → internship or projects (whichever is closer to the role) → skills → clubs/certs if short. Do not invent poetic section titles. Keep the skills list short and repeat the same words inside STAR bullets; see the STAR guide.
Projects that do not read like a syllabus
Each project: goal, your part, tools, result. Avoid “learned HTML/CSS.” Better: built product list and filters for a class store, used semantic headings, and presented the interaction in a demo. Results can be a demo, shipped features, or reused components; see quantification.
Clubs versus internships
Internships beat generic clubs unless the club maps to the role (for example, running a publication for a media job). A two-month internship is worth a section if you can name steps and a deliverable. Grades are not experience; a scholarship can be one line under education.
One page or two
New grads should stay on one page. Use two only if the stack must be explained and page two is still selectable text. A photo is optional in some markets; phone and skills must remain selectable text, not an icon wall.

Do I need separate Chinese and English resumes?
